In Massachusetts, the overall demand for law enforcement workers is expected to grow by 16 percent through 2010. Job opportunities are forecast to increase 23 percent for correctional officers; 15 percent for police and sheriff's patrol officers; 16 percent for security guards; and 25 percent for private detectives and investigators. Overall, legal support workers can expect a 12 percent increase in employment opportunities, with particularly strong growth of 19 percent for paralegal jobs. The demand for lawyers, meanwhile, is forecast to grow by 9 percent.
